OPINION: Why Chelsea Fans Are Happy About The VAR’s Decision In The London Derby Yesterday

[ad_1]

Chelsea’s spectacular comeback in the London derby against Westham United was eclipsed by the VAR decision in the stoppage time, when the Video Assistant Referee ruled out Maxwell Cornet equaliser because of a supposed foul on Eduoard Mendy by Jarrod Bowen seconds before the ball found the back of the net.

However, Chelsea fans are delighted with the Video Assistant Referee’s decision that ensured their third win of the season in the league.

On Matchday two against Tottenham Hotspurs at Stamford Bridge, VAR was heavily involved before Harry Kane’s equaliser in the 96th minute for Tottenham. Many Chelsea fans were not happy with the decision not to award a free kick for Marc Cucurella after his hair was pulled by Christian Romero in the build up to the Tottenham goal.

In my opinion Chelsea fans are happy with yesterday’s VAR’s decision because of the match against Tottenham Hotspurs, because the Video Assistant Referee also favoured their club.
