‘Oyo police officers severely injured my hands and collected N35k from me because I have an iPhone and a motorbike’

A Nigerian student and writer, Folarin, has accused men of the Oyo state police command of brutalizing him just because he ”dressed well, has a Hajoue bike, and an iPhone.”

In a Thread posted on his handle, Folarin alleged that the officers pulled him from his moving motorcycle, and used a baton to inflict injury on him. He also claimed that they collected N35,000 from him which was meant for his school fees.

@Princemoye1 these your guys pulled my shirt from a moving bike and wounded my hands and used baton on me. After that, they coerced me to open my phone and illegally searched my phone. All this happened in oyo town and these people are terrorist. They wanted to kill me.

This isn’t how it should be. I have my machine papers and my numbers is being processed. They made sure I transferred to them 35,000 which is meant for my school fees and wounded my legs and my palm. Help me rt please

I am a citizen and I always abide by the law. I have never for once disobeyed anything and now I am being wounded for being a Nigerian citizen. This is the height of it. I just want justice and that’s all.”
