The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has revealed why he’s angry with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the national chairman of the party, senator Iyorchia Ayu.
It was reported by Daily Post, Wike stated this, at the Commissioning of projects in Rivers state, that Atiku failed to fulfill his promise that Ayu will resign his position as national chairman of the party, after he won the primary election.
The Governor insisted, that Ayu must step aside as national chairman of the party, as this fight, they will fight it to the end. The Governor also said the issue at hand, is that of justice and fairness, stressing that having produced the presidential candidate of the party, the north should not also hold on to the chairmanship of the party.
Governor Wike also vowed that the resignation of Walid Jibrin, as the board of Trustees, will not stop his demand for Ayu’s removal.
It should be recalled, that Governor Wike had earlier demanded that Ayu should resign his position as national chairman of the party for proper reconciliation, ahead of the 2023 presidential election but Ayu insisted that he won’t resign his position.
Governor Wike also demanded that Atiku will only spend single term, as president and handover to the southern candidate.
