The Vanguard Newspaper Online reported this morning that a group called The Nigerian Agenda for Inclusion (TNAI) has responded to the current turmoil in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the information provided, the organization released a statement yesterday in Abuja advising the PDP to be cautious and warning the party’s chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, about his actions following Atiku’s victory in the party’s presidential primary contest.
According to the group, Ayu’s actions run counter to the ideals of the party’s forefathers and cast doubt on his commitment to the organization’s heritage and ideology of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
It was further discussed that there are currently thirteen governors in Nigeria who are members of the PDP; however, five of these governors are at odds with the party’s chairman and want him to quit for the sake of regional parity.
“A party with thirteen serving governors and in which about five are in dispute is a non-starter ahead of the 2023 elections,” the coalition said. “This is true regardless of sentiment and grandstanding and especially when competing against a party like the APC.”
