The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has reacted to the emergence of Rt. Hon. Liz Truss as the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He shared this on his Facebook page few hours ago.
He said, “The United Kingdom has remained a great ally to Nigeria over the years, and the mutual benefits that can accrue to both countries through more formidable partnerships in the future look promising.”
He has however congratulated Liz Truss, “I heartily congratulate Rt. Hon. Liz Truss on her emergence as the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom via a keenly contested electoral process. Her emergence is a testament to the strength and resiliency of a true democracy.” He claims to be confident that Liz Truss will make good use of her invaluable experience from her former position as the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
This has generated reactions among social media users. However, they have joined Peter Obi to Congratulate Liz Truss.
