Petroleum minister inaugurates FG projects in Yola
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, on Thursday, inaugurated some projects executed by the Federal Government, under the oil and gas sector, intervention, for the North East region, in Yola, Adamawa State.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, accompanied, the petroleum minister, to commission the projects.
The projects included, the, radiology complex at Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital, Yola; overhauled Nana Asma’u Maternal Referral Centre Yola, and Ajiya Clinic in Jimeta out of the 58 designed projects for the state.
The governor thanked the Federal Government for executing the projects which he noted would be of tremendous benefit to the state.
Fintiri spoke on the efforts of the State Government in the delivery, of efficient healthcare delivery as a priority.
He said the interventions covered the construction of new cottage hospitals in communities, lacking the facility as well as rehabilitation and equipping of health facilities spread across all the 21 local government areas.
Sylva who thanked Governor Fintiri, for the warm reception also commended the Fintiri administration for its giant stride in the health sector.
The Radiology Complex commissioned at the Modibbo Teaching Hospital Yola has city scanner, neonatal unit, resident doctor’s quarters, digital radio, MRI unit, and histopathology unit.
The 58 intervention projects in the state were in furtherance of the Federal Government’s pledge and commitment for rebuilding the northeast sub region, following the devastation of key infrastructure caused by Boko Haram insurgency.
