Habeeb Okikiola, better known as the controversial recording artist Portable, has given his reasoning for declining to take the stage at an Italian event.
The musician said he wasn’t ready to attend a concert where attendees were hurling obscene weapons like knives, pistols, and bottles around in a video posted on his Instagram stories on Monday morning.
He continued by saying that because the organisers of the performance wouldn’t give him proper security, he wouldn’t risk his life by performing at a “abattoir.”
Additionally, he informed the show’s promoter that because they didn’t uphold their end of the bargain, he wouldn’t be returning the money paid to him for the performance.
Equally, the singer also said that he only performs where money is being sprayed and not at an abattoir.
According to him, some show promoters bring negativities to some artists’ careers.
