The lingering crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party appears to be far from over as Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike maintains his position on Ayu must step down as national chairman of the party before he can back Atiku Abubakar.
It would be recalled that Wike has constantly reminded the PDP Chairman of his promise to quit if the presidential candidate comes from the north.
According to Punch Newspaper, Nyesom Wike tackled Former Niger state governor, Babangida Aliyu while addressing the public yesterday in River state.
According to Wike, it was Babangida Aliyu that came on national television to say the northern governors made agreement to work against Jonathan so that power will return to North.
“This is the same Babangida, who came out on national TV and said they, governors from the North, agreed to fail Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 because they felt it was the turn of the North to produce the president.” Punch Newspaper quoted Wike as saying.
