The Convener of the Middle Belt Movement for Justice and Peace (MBMJP), Mr. Joe Bukka has deplored the lingering strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
He expressed his feelings of recent, describing the strike action as a “national embarrassment”. He said Nigerians were not happy with the government due to the ASUU strike, insecurity and other crisis afflicting the country.
Howbeit, he stressed that it was necessary for President Muhammadu Buhari to handle the matter by himself, the same way Former President, Jonathan Ebele resolved the issue during his administration.
He said in quote: ” We urge President Buhari to adopt the same strategy to have this strike called off because it is a national embarrassment that our public universities have remained shut for this long and our leaders are busy talking politics without taking cognisance of the fact that a country is in trouble when its human capital development is stagnated”.
