Promising Nigerian youngster Ethan Nwaneri made his competitive debut for Arsenal U21 team in the 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers U21 team at the Meadow Park.
Amario Cozier-Duberry got the Arsenal rolling in the eleventh minute with a brilliant finish, while Charles Kwame Sagoe Junior made it two nine minutes later.
Blackburn return from the break with a better attitude and mentality and were rewarded when Harrison Wood found the back of the net in the 56th minute.
However, Arsenal responded and restore their two-goal deficit when Charles Kwame Sagoe Junior found the back of the net in the 78th minute before Jack Henry-Francis made it four-one deep into additional time after regular ninety minutes.
Ethan Nwaneri was a surprise starter in the game following his inclusion in the squad list. The apperance against Blackburn is his first in the development squad, other appearances have come with the U18 team.
Since making his debut for the U18 team in May 4, 2021, the highly-rated attacking midfielder has featured in nine league games, scored four goals and provided four assists.
