The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has, in a tweet on his verified Twitter account, a few minutes ago, reacted to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Peter Obi wrote
” I am saddened to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch of the United Kingdom. My thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family , the entire United Kingdom and the Commonwealth nations, over this irreplaceable loss.”
“Hers was an impactful reign, and a beautiful and explored life devoted to democratic ideals, charity, selflessness, and empathy. She will always be remembered by the lives, organizations, institutions, and countries she positively touched during her reign.”
Recall that at the early hours of Thursday, it was announced that the doctors were “concerned” with the health of the queen and that they had placed her under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Following the news was the report that the Queen had passed away. She died peacefully at Balmoral at the age of 96.
However, the tweet made by Peter Obi to sympathise and pray along with the Royal Family sparked reactions on the Twitter platform as many Twitter users also took to their Twitter accounts to wish Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, to rest in peace.
