Rivers won’t give PDP free votes, says Wike

[ad_1]

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has stated that votes cast there in the general election in 2023 will go where a tangible reward is assured for such support.

The governor added that anyone or any group attempting to kill him will perish first and that his life was in God’s hands.

Wike admitted that a few of his close friends had expressed worries about his safety, but he had urged them not to worry since God was on his side.

On Tuesday, he gave a speech at the opening of the Rivers State University’s Etche Campus in the Abara hamlet of the Etche Local Government Area.

We will decide what to do at the proper time,” the governor added. Because we have given the Peoples Democratic Party the most votes since 1999, I want the people of Rivers to think about this.

I defy any state to claim that it has contributed more votes to the PDP. Which state has supported Rivers State more generously? Show me one federal project that was completed in Rivers State in 1999. Exists one?

Tell me what you will give the people of Rivers if you want our votes. Our support for Dash has waned.

He remembered how some of his coworkers had bargained and given their votes to President Major Federal Muhammadu Buhari during the 2019 general elections, but only Rivers State resisted by delivering all of its votes to the PDP.

Wike observed that these people are now speaking as though they love the PDP more.

The federal authorities “battled us, but we survived,” he continued. The majority of them who are speaking right now would have crumbled if this Federal Government had arrived upon them.

The way Buhari won the election was because they planned to deal with him in 2019. No negotiations, the PDP must win, I told them when they approached me.

The warning “be careful, they will kill you” came from certain people. Who was killed? Who told you that you wouldn’t pass away before you got to me? Therefore, those of you who are in a panic need not do so.

What do you fear if you have God? They have pursued us and engaged in combat with us, but as of right now, we remain unwavering.

Wike also explained his remarks regarding the reasons why he claimed he was prepared to deal with opponents of his electoral eligibility.

The governor claimed that God had given him the authority and resources necessary to serve as governor and that he would not leave what he would do in God’s hands.
