Russian president will not attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral – Kremlin

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia will not be attending the funeral of late Queen Elizabeth’s, in a statement made by Dmitry Peskov, the president’s spokesperson. He disclosed this during a press briefing on Friday.

Peskov said that even though “Russians respected Queen Elizabeth for her wisdom,” said that Putin’s attendance at the funeral “is not being taken into consideration.”

The Russian president had on Thursday offered his condolences to King Charles III following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, as he wish the new monarch “resilience and courage.”

Part of the statement made by Kremlin reads as, “The most important occasions of the UK’s recent history are inextricably bound with the name of Queen Elizabeth II. For many decades she rightfully love her people’ respected and appreciate as well as authority on the world stage.”

Queen Elizabeth II, the respected and longest-serving monarch in British history, died on Thursday, 8 September, 2022 at the age of 96.
