According to Daily Trust, the Anambra state Governor whose name is Professor Chukwuma Soludo has stated that in two weeks to come, the state government would be launching a telemedicine in the state, the governor said it is part of his desire to help in boosting health care delivery in the state and making it more efficient. He stated that the new approach on medical healthcare is to remake up for the health care deficit in the state including the health professionals. The commissioner for health whose name is Dr Afam Obidike was responsible for disclosing the good news during a meeting with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Anambra state.
He said that this new innovative would be to improve access to the proper health care delivery in the state. Telemedicine can be defined as making use of telecommunication technology to in a remotely way, diagnose and provide treatment for patients wherever they are. According to the Governor, it would be through e-mails, instant messaging conversation or telephone conversation.
