Spain vs Switzerland

Spain has been in good form in the UEFA Nations League and should be able to keep things tight against the bottom side in the group

Spain hosts Switzerland on Saturday evening in Group Two in League A of the UEFA Nations League with Luis Enrique’s side looking for the win which would put them closer to the latter stage of the competition.

La Roja have eight points and sit top of the group, a point ahead of Portugal who they play in the final game on Tuesday.

Switzerland meanwhile are bottom of the group and need a result to help them try to avoid relegation to League B.

Spain vs Switzerland preview

La Roja’s competitive matches have generally been tight low-scoring affairs with five of their last six matches seeing under 2.5 goals.

On their day, Spain are capable of scoring goals yet on the whole they tend to keep things tight scoring between one and two goals a game.

The last time they scored more than two goals in a competitive fixture was a 4-0 win over Georgia a year ago, with the last nine competitive matches seeing them score two goals or less.

This will be the seventh meeting between these nations in the last 12 years and all the previous meetings have seen under 2.5 goals.
