Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has condemned certain actions and comments ahead of the 2023 general elections. The former Lagos State governor advised citizens to stop exaggerating Nigeria’s problems and shaming the country.

On the need to elect credible people at every level, the former governor of Lagos State “urged Nigerians to understand that choices have consequences as the nation moved to another electoral cycle in 2023.” Nigeria is currently suffering from worsening insecurity, and a bad economy among other things, it is Germaine to elect people with a better understanding of the economy and the security architecture to reposition the country before it is too late.

In his speech on Thursday in Lagos, at the Annual Lecture of The Niche, with the theme 2023 Election and the Future of Nigeria Democracy, Fashola said elections can be won by offering credible service and well-thought-out solutions and not necessarily exaggerating our problems.

Fashola also faulted the ways and manners Nigerians, especially youths are currently attacking one another on various social media platforms. Nigerians should make the right choices in 2023 to bring out the best in the country.
