Nigeria Customs Returns Seized Food Trucks Following Tinubu’s Directive

The Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has adhered to a directive from Bola Tinubu, resulting in the return of 15 seized trucks of grains to their rightful owners.

Abdullahi Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the command, issued a statement on Tuesday evening, March 12, announcing the decision to return the seized food items.

This move comes in response to President Tinubu’s directive ordering Customs to return all seized food items at the border to their owners, with the condition that the items are to be sold in Nigerian markets to bolster food availability.

Adewale Adeniyi, the Controller-General of Customs, emphasized that Tinubu’s decision was made out of generosity towards Nigeria, transcending legal guidelines and reflecting a profound sense of care for the welfare of the nation’s populace.
