In order to assist in their placement in Nigerian colleges to continue their studies, the Federal Government has instructed Nigerian students who fled war-torn Ukraine to complete an online form on the Federal Ministry of Education website.
This was said in a statement Monday that was posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was signed by Francisca Omaluyi, the ministry spokesman.
The ministry advised prospective students to go to their website and fill out the “Nigerian Student in Ukraine (NSU) registration form with the required details on or before 15th July, 2022.”

The statement read: “The Federal Government of Nigeria wishes to inform Nigerian students who returned from Ukraine following the conflict in that country, that efforts are being made to facilitate their placement into various Nigerian tertiary institutions, to enable them continue their studies.

“In this connection, Interested students should visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: https://www.foreignaffairs.gov.ng and complete the online Nigerian Student in Ukraine (NSU) registration form with the required information on or before 15th July, 2022.”

The Academic Staff Union of Universities was engaged in strike activity at the time of this notification (ASUU).
Due to the federal government’s unwillingness to concede to the demands of the striking lecturers, public universities throughout the nation have been forced to close.
The prolonged strike has been caused by its failure to abide by the 2009 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that the two parties signed. This MOU included demands for the union’s Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), the payment of arrears to lecturers, and the revitalization of public universities, among other things.
