The Adamawa State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Bilal, has resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, after he was accused of financial misconduct and gross violation of the constitution, Sahara Reporters has learnt.

Adamawa is the home state of Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Adamawa State executive committee of the APC removed Bilal over alleged anti-party activities.

Former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has congratulated Kenya’s President-elect, Mr William Ruto on his emergence as the winner of Kenya’s August 9, 2022, Presidential election, urging him to run an inclusive government and seek to unite Kenyans.

The former President of Nigeria who stated this in a goodwill message to Mr Ruto shortly after the Kenyan Supreme Court affirmed his victory on Monday, also charged him to be magnanimous in victory and leverage the pervading peaceful atmosphere, to stabilise Kenya and establish the country on the path of sustainable economic growth.

Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport on Monday said the 2023 presidential election will still be a two-party affair between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the former Minister, the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi can only try their best during the election but cannot win because they lack the structure and national spread to secure victory.

He said, “It is still going to be a two party affair. It is still going to be between the APC and PDP. The Labour Party can only try but there is nothing they can do. Unlike the APC and PDP, the Labour Party does not cover the whole of the country.”

DCP Abba Kyari Denies Ownership Of 14 Assets, Mall, Estate, Others.

Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, on Monday, dismissed allegation by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), linking him to the ownership of 14 assets, including shopping mall, residential estate, polo playground, lands and farmland.

Kyari, a former commander, Intelligence Response Team, was reacting to recent reports orchestrated by NDLEA, in a bid to further tarnish his image.

In a statement issued on Monday, Kyari’s lawyer, Hamza Dan Tani said the agency resorted to cheap blackmail because “NDLEA’s case in court against Abba Kyari and 4 others is not going well for them.”
