He said, “The Federal Government cannot pay lecturers for what they did not work for. The strike has continued to portray the country in a bad light and has succeeded in causing more pains for parents and students.”

Many Facebook users have reacted to the headline on Facebook, Read reactions from three Facebook Users:

1. Dear Mr Minister for state Education, appeals will not solve this issue if trully 80% of the demands of ASUU have been met then it should not be a verbal thing.Roll it out and get back to negotiate the arreas of salaries owed. This same APC led FG while in opposition criticised the GEJ admin for the prolonged strike ASUU embarked and used it as a launch pad to attack the PDP admin.Enough of these appeals and get down to fufilling your own part of the agreements entered with ASUU.

2. The FG should honor the agreement with ASUU instead they’re using the no-work-no-pay to distract and divert the attention of the masses. If the govt had honored the agreement since, the strike wouldn’t have been prolonged.

3. Asuu should mobilize their members and vote for someone that will resolve their problems.
