An APC chieftain and grassroots politician in Edo State Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe Rtd., has urged the people of Esan land to vote en masse for the APC in the forthcoming House of Assembly election holding on Saturday, in order to bring additional development to Esanland and Edo State in general.
The retired Army General and APC stalwart, made the remark while discussing with newsmen on the importance of Edo State being at the forefront of development. He believes that the APC in Esanland is not plotting to impeach anyone.
According to him, “We are playing to win, there is no ulterior motive or reason to impeach anyone, Esanland is on a new trajectory of growth in bringing development to the people, it is all about competency in governance, we need the right and competent lawmakers who would work with the State government in making the state be at the vanguard of development across the 36 states of the federation,
Speaking further, “To the best of my knowledge, Esan APC has no malice against anyone, and we don’t engage in politics of animosity. Instead, all that matters is what’s best for EsanLand and the citizens of Edo State, as we all need a government that is open and responsive to the people.”
The grassroot mobilizer also addressed the question of PC’s togetherness in EsanLand, asserting that the party is stronger and more united than ever, as seen by the party’s outstanding performance in Edo Central during the most recent Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The retired army General argues that, the trajectory of growth should be maintained by supporting APC candidates in Saturday’s election by turning out in large numbers to vote for the party.
He concluded by pleading with them to disregard reports of a plot to have the governor removed from office and stressed that the party had nothing against anyone other than the development of EsanLand. He also insisted that the party is not controlled by any one person.
