Ahmed Umar, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the accident to reporters in Abeokuta.

The bus’s driver, who had the licence plate APP 297 YC, lost control at a bend and somersaulted, and he put the blame for the collision on excessive speed.

“The injured persons were taken to State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta, while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of same hospital.”
