Tobi Amusan Sets New Record As She Wins Diamond League Trophy.

On Thursday, Nigeria‘s Tobi Amusan, a record-holder, broke it by finishing in 12.29 seconds to successfully defend her Diamond League championship.

This year, she won the women’s 100-meter hurdles event at the Diamond League in Zurich.

Kendra Harrison of the United States and Britany Anderson of Jamaica finished second and third, respectively, after the winner.

The 25-year-old had won the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in August.

This came after she ran the hurdles record down in the semifinals of the World Athletic Championship in 12.12 seconds.

With her wind speed demonstration in Eugene, Oregon, Amusan became the first Nigerian to take home a gold medal at the competition.

With a 12:57s, she successfully defended her African championship title.

Amusan has served as a role model for female athletes both domestically and internationally.

This has stirred up reactions amongst Nigerians as many of them have been praising her based on her recent achievements.
