The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said that the country’s challenges can be overcome with the right approach.

He said though the country’s situation was critical, it was not yet hopeless as things can still change for the better.

The former Anambra State governor stated this in a series of tweets on his Twitter handle on Sunday, adding that getting things done the right way will get the country out of its current mess.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a paper candidate.

PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Sunday also said Tinubu is intimidated by the achievement of its presidential candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Tinubu on Saturday said he wondered why the PDP still exists. The APC candidate said, “They spent 16 years and forgot that there is a railway infrastructure that can do haulage, human carriage, animal husbandry, and food carriage across the length and breadth of the country.

Nigeria to reap billions of dollars in debt relief – Osinbajo.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said the Federal Government will be reaping billions of dollars in debt relief from some creditors if the Debt-for-Climate (DFC) swap deal is accepted.

Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the swap deal was proposed recently in the U.S. by the vice president. The idea, described as fresh thinking in Washington D.C by senior American government officials, is already receiving positive reviews even as Osinbajo explained the potential for significant debt cancellation for African countries.

NDLEA Operatives Arrest 8 Suspected Bandits In Ondo Forest.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ondo State, have intercepted eight suspected bandits terrorizing farmers within the Ala forest in Akure North LGA.

While going after a drug lord within the region, the operatives found the suspects with a huge stash of illegal substances and some arms.

Those arrested include: Austin Dickson, 47, who is the gang leader; Sunday Adekunle, 31; Kayode Oluwaseun, 29; Kolawole Kazeem, 33; Oladimeji Makinde, 37; Emeka Charles, 46; Ojo Oluwadare, 40; and Lanre Oluwajana, 44.
