Atiku Experienced to Manage Wike‘s Frustration-Ogidi

Former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South, Emmanuel Ogidi, says the crisis within the PDP is borne out of Governor Nyesom Wike’s disappointment from losing the primaries.

Ogidi disclosed this while featuring on the Arise TV morning show program on Tuesday.

He said the PDP crisis was an outcome of Wike not winning the party’s presidential primaries. “What is happening with Governor Wike is natural; he is human, blood flows in his vein.

Election & Obasanjo Involvement 

There appears no doubt that Chief Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo has so far lived a fulfilled life. Very few human creations even across the globe have been privileged to be so favored by a provident with such a life of massive achievements.

Obasanjo came into the national consciousness when in 1970 he received on behalf of Nigeria the surrendered baton from Biafran soldiers, a historic development that signaled the end of civil war after three years of huge human carnage and destruction of properties particularly in the eastern part of the country.

Meanwhile, his romance with the national leadership indeed came in 1975 when a military coup swept away General Yakubu Gowon from office. Obasanjo subsequently emerged as one of the ruling triumvirates. Six months later, he indeed assumed leadership of the Nigerian government when the head of that triumvirate was assassinated.

Jonathan, Davido React to Ruto’s Court Victory 

Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the victory of Kenyan President-Elect William Ruto at the nation’s Supreme Court.

DAILY POST recalls that Ruto was on Monday declared the rightful winner of the just concluded presidential election in the East African country.

Raila Odinga, Ruto’s rival, had rejected the results alleging irregularities and went to court to contest the result.

However, in its unanimous judgment, the Kenyan Supreme Court dismissed the petition against Ruto’s electoral victory.

Rivers gunmen shoot driver dead, abduct eight passengers

A commercial bus driver, Salvation Harry, has been killed by gunmen who ambushed him and his passengers around the Abonema/Degema/EmuohaEmuoha/Kalabari area of the East-West Road in Rivers State.

After killing the driver, who was conveying his passengers from Mile One Park in the Doibu axis of Port Harcourt to Buguma, the gunmen also abducted eight passengers and fled the premises.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects took advantage of the bad portion of the road to perpetrate the crime on Saturday and later released one of the victims, who reportedly paid N150, 000.

The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, has lauded the gallant performance of the military in the onslaught against criminal elements in the six geo-political zones of the country.
