Abba Kyari releases account, assets details

Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, on Monday, said the allegation by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, linking him to the ownership of 14 assets, including shopping mall, residential estate, polo playground, lands and farmland, was untrue.

Kyari, a former Commander, Intelligence Response Team, in a statement by his lawyer, Hamza Dan Tani, said the reports were orchestrated by the NDLEA to further tarnish his image.

According to him, the agency resorted to cheap blackmail because “NDLEA’s case in court against Abba Kyari and four others is not going well for them”.

Wike vows to flog, crush PDP ‘small boys’

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Monday, said he would not leave his political opponents for God, but he would deal with them himself.

Wike said he would flog “the small boys.”

Governor Wike spoke on Monday when he inaugurated the Okezuo Abia Flyover along the Aba -Enugu Expressway in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, and the rehabilitated Aba- Owerri Road in Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says its members remained resolute to get what public universities need from the Federal Government to survive and compete globally.

Prof. Ayo Akinwole, the Chairman of ASUU, University of Ibadan chapter, made the assertions on Monday in Ibadan.

Akinwole said that lecturers in public universities in Nigeria have been using their bloods to run public universities and sustaining it.

Embattled Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Ibrahim Bilal, has dismissed his purported sack by the party excos.

Recall that about 25 fellow state excos on Monday announced the sack of Bilal.

However, Bilal in a statement Monday evening insisted that he remains the state chairman of the APC.
