The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said plans by some powerful individuals attempting to break his rank and create disunity will fail.

The governor maintained that the Peoples Democratic Party governors working with him were only demanding that the right things should be done in the party and agreement reached be respected.

Governor Wike spoke on Monday when he inaugurated the Okezuo Abia Flyover along the Aba -Enugu Expressway in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, and the rehabilitated Aba- Owerri Road in Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Adamawa APC Removes Chairman

The Adamawa State executive committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed the state chairman, Ibrahim Bilal, over alleged anti party, financial misconduct and gross violation of the party’s constitution.

Following Bilal’s removal, his deputy, Ismaila Tadawus, was sworn in as the new chairman of the party, with 24 out of 36 officers appending their signatures.

The executive committee at a meeting held at the APC state Secretariat in Yola, on Monday, accused the chairman of extortion.

2023: We’ve not compromised on Muslim-Muslim ticket — CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has said that its position against same-faith presidential ticket cannot be compromised for any reason.

The apex Christian body stated this in reaction to a report making the rounds in some sections of the media which alleged that its leadership had changed its position on the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after meeting with the party’s standard nearer and his campaign team.

In a statement on Monday, CAN urged Nigerians to discountenance the story, describing the report as ridiculous, malicious, and untrue.

Lagos commissioner resigns after Oniru building collapse

Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako has resigned.

Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information made the announcement in a statement on Monday.

Omotoso said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has accepted the resignation.
