The National Woman Leader of the Labour Party, LP, Mrs. Dudu Manuga, has said that the ongoing political revolution and massive movements by young Nigerians have gone beyond individuals and political parties. Manuga spoke at a Meet and Greet interactive session with some leaders of women groups in Lagos, on Friday.

According to her, the movements ignited by the LP and its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, have shown that Nigerians were tired of bad leadership, corruption, worsening insecurity and economic stagnation.

Lawan passionate about Nigerian’s unity-Gov Buni.

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has described the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as a national figure who has contributed immensely to the nation’s unity.

Buni stated this when he delivered a speech at a grand reception organised by the Yobe State Government in Gashua, Bade Local Government Area, on Saturday.

He said that Lawan’s sterling accomplishments and passion for an indivisible Nigeria set him aside for the honour by the state government.

Abiodun sympathises with Ogun tanker explosion victims.

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has sympathised with the victims of the petrol tanker explosion at Matogun in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

Abiodun, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Saturday, described as unfortunate the incident where 10 houses and shops were destroyed by fire from the explosion.

The governor, who thanked God that no life was lost in the explosion, however, expressed grief at the level of destruction of the people’s property.

FRSC urges tanker owners to install safety valves against explosions.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun has advised tanker owners to install safety valves and adhere to simple traffic regulations to avoid preventable mishaps on the highways.

Sector Commander Ahmed Umar gave the advice while speaking in Ota, Ogun, on Saturday.

Mr Umar spoke while reacting to the tanker ladened with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which exploded and razed 10 buildings at about 7:00 a.m. in Matogun area of Ifo Local Government of the state.
