The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Saturday said his party would not engage PDP in war of words because they are smarter than them.

Tinubu stated this at the inauguration of campaign logo and vehicles of the “APC Northern Door-to-Door for Tinubu/Shettima 2023’’ by the Northern APC Speakers Forum in Abuja on Saturday.

He said his team is also capable of creating prosperity for Nigeria and her citizens.

We are the party of progressive ideas. We want good education for our children, good development for Nigeria, prosperity for this country and for agriculture and agro-allied projects to be embarked upon.

But, the Speaker had returned to his Ifo residence as of Saturday morning.

The Speaker’s media aide, Abdulgafar Adeleye, confirmed to newsmen that the Speaker returned home on Saturday morning.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former gubernatorial aspirant in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has advised warring members of political parties to shield their swords so as not to provoke electorates who are the decider of their political fates.

Onuesoke, who gave the advice while addressing newsmen in Asaba, the Delta State capital, said the present crisis rocking the executives and leadership of some of the political parties in Nigeria may result in provoking the electorates to shift their loyalties to other parties where peace and decorum reign.

Siminialayi Fubara, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers state and Uchenna Ikonne, PDP gubernatorial candidate in Abia, were conspicuously absent when the presidential candidate of their party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, met with PDP 2023 guber candidates on Saturday.

Both Fubara and Ikonne had the backings of Governor Nyesom Wike and Okezie Ikpeazu to clinch the gubernatorial tickets in their states.

The meeting held at a time Wike and some governors are in London to deliberate on strategies needed to survive the crisis rocking the party.

Wike has been at loggerheads with the party leadership since he lost the presidential ticket to Atiku. The crisis worsened after Atiku picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate, ignoring the recommendation of those who shortlisted Wike.
