Top Gun Maverick confirms digital release – and it’s very soon

Box office hit Top Gun: Maverick now has a digital release date – and it’s good news for Tom Cruise fans.

While the film is still playing in cinemas across the UK, Paramount Pictures has confirmed its plans for home release, with the movie being available to stream from August 24 before physical copies are available later this year.

The film’s digital release will also include tonnes of bonus content, with an extra 110 minutes of footage being released alongside the film.

The extra content includes a look into the training program to prepare the cast for fighter jet sequences, plus a look at the experimental aircraft designed for the film and music videos for Lady Gaga and OneRepublics’ songs “Hold My Hand” and “I Ain’t Worried” (which feature on the film’s soundtrack).

There’s also an interview with Tom Cruise, where he shares his love for aviation as he pilots a vintage World War II fighter jet.

Available from October 31, the physical release can be pre-ordered now and there are multiple options available for purchase, including 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray.

If you’re more of a collector, Top Gun: Maverick – 4K Ultra HD Steelbook is available for £34.99. The standard DVD and Blu-ray will come with selected bonus content, while the 4K Ultra HD and Steelbook copies will come with all of the above extras.

As the highly anticipated sequel to the 1986 original, Top Gun: Maverick has been a major success, both at the box-office and for Cruise.

The film has grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the actor’s most successful film to date.
