Arsenal signs Brazilian forward

Arsenal has completed the signing of teenage forward Marquinhos from Brazilian outfit Sao Paolo, the Premier League club announced on Monday.

“We’re delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while,” said Arsenal technical director Edu.

Manchester City has completed the signing of Norway striker Erling Haaland from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund on a five-year contract, the Premier League champions said on Monday.

The city did not provide financial details of the deal but German media reported that the total cost of buying Haaland could exceed €300 million, including his salary, agent fees, and bonuses.

The 21-year-old striker’s value has skyrocketed thanks to his prolific form at Dortmund after joining them from the Austrian side of Salzburg two years ago.

“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons,” said Haaland, who scored 86 goals in all competitions for Dortmund since his debut in January 2020.

Billy Gilmour gets contract extension

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has had his contract extended at Chelsea until the summer of 2024.

The 21-year-old had a year left on his contract with the club, and Chelsea has now exercised the option to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he will be tied to the club until 2024.

Gilmour spent last season on loan at Norwich City, but it was rather deemed unsuccessful, as the Canaries got relegated after finishing bottom of the league.
