Trending Video: Minister For Interior, Rauf Aregbesola In A Drama With A Fellow Nigerian In The USA.

Though coincidental, this is supposed to be friendly meeting between the Nigerian minister for interior and a Nigerian citizen resident in the United States of America. However something went wrong along the line. Who amongst the duo bungled it, one might ask?

Apparently, the scene is a coffee shop. A Nigerian sees another Nigerian, a very big Nigerian by Nigerian standard. Back home, as a serving minister and a two term ex-governor of the state of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola shouldn’t be helping himself with a cup of coffee, no matter what. That should fall within the purview of his retinue of aides.

However, in the USA, Aregbesola had no choice than to queue up like every other person in the shop, to help himself out. Then a Nigerian saw the scene and of course, the conversation on the video ensued. I think the Minister handled it brilliantly well at the beginning. But, he lost it when he attempted to block the ‘intruder’ from capturing the meeting on video. He had no reason to. He definitely had no reason. My opinion though! The conversations can start…For me, the take home is, if you mess up here in Nigeria and you feel there is a foreign land to take a refuge, you have got to have your head re-examined. Those abroad have zero tolerance for insensitive and uncaring politicians.
