Chelsea failed to start their 2022-23 UEFA Champions League campaign with a win as they lost 1-0 to Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb at the Stadion Maksimir on Tuesday evening.

The only goal of the game was scored by Mislav Orsic in the 13th minute with the Blues failing to get an equaliser.

Here are three players to blame for Chelsea’s loss to Dinamo Zagreb.

1 Wesley Fofana

The French defender will want to forget this game despite being his UEFA Champions League debut due inability to prevent the only goal of the game. The Croatian side only goal came as a result of the former Leicester City defender being caught out of position and didn’t have enough pace to stop the goalscorer.

2 Kalidou Koulibaly

The Senegalese defender continue his unimpressive start in the Blues jersey as he was caught out of position that led to the only goal of the game scored by the host.

The absence of Thiago Silva was obvious as the former Napoli defender could not form a solid partnership with Wesley Fofana.

3 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The former Arsenal striker made his debut as a started for the Blues but was not able to hit the ground running in his first game. The Gabonese striker found the back of the net but it was disallowed for offside.
