UEFA reacts after Mbappe breaks Leo Messi UCL record in PSG’S 2-1 hard-fought win against Juventus

France international and forward maestro, Kylian Mbappe was superb yesterday for Christophe Galtier led Paris Saint Germain team in their UEFA Champions League opener at home against Italian Serie A giant Juventus at the Parc Des Princes.

The former AS Monaco star was the hero and saviour of the night for the Parisien as he scored the two goals for his team which was enough to secure the whole maximum three points that placed them at the second spot on the table.

Kylian Mbappe scored a first half brace in the 5th and 22nd minute respectively which made it two goals to nil going into the half time break which gave them an edge at the end of the first 45 minutes.

The visitor in the second half were able to step up their game and as such got the deficit reduced in the 53rd minute with a goal from Weston McKennie to make it two goals to one which was the final scoreline at full time.

Kylian Mbappe with his brace of the night has now broken Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest player to score 35 goals in the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappé: 23 years, 260 days

Leo Messi: 23 years, 307 days

Raúl González: 25 years, 82 days

Karim Benzema: 26 years, 69 days

Thomas Müller: 26 years, 185 days

Cristiano Ronaldo: 27 years, 59 days.

UEFA has reacted to this with a post via their verified Twitter handle where they revealed that Kylian Mbappe is now the youngest player to score 35 goals in Champions League history at age 23 years and 260 days.

He will then be hoping to keep his impressive run of form at the front of goals going as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
