Manchester United failed to replicate their English Premier League form in the UEFA Europa League as they lost 1-0 to Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

Spanish international Brais Mendez scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the second half of the European tie.

Here are three players to blame for Manchester United‘s loss to Real Sociedad.

1 Victor Lindelof

The Swedish defender failed to impress in his first start under Erik ten Hag as he was the weaklink in Manchester United defence. He struggled to keep Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo at bay with the Japanese giving him a tough time.

2 Antony

The Brazil international was not at his best against the Basque side. He failed to create chances and also trouble Sociedad defenders.  He was later taken off and was replaced by Sancho.

3 Fred

The Brazilian midfielder also had an awful performance for the Red Devils and was unable to blend well with Casemiro.
