Not too long ago in Nigeria, the news of the appearance of fake fish made of plastic materials made the rounds. Casually, one could easily have taken the plastic fish for the normal ones we all knew as there was hardly any marked difference between them. Somehow, the talk about the fake fish faded way as it’s origin was traced to one of Asian powers.
It is no longer news that, rice is one of the most sought after staple food in Nigeria. Just recently, the price of rice hit the roof tops. Most families can hardly afford it as it now comes with well over 100% rise in cost.
It is possible therefore, that the sudden appearance of fake rice as depicted in this viral video, could be a response to the high cost of rice and the anticipated attendant rush for a cheaper brand this Christmas season.
