Walid Jibrin Was Forced Out Of Office To Make Sure Ayu Remains In Office – Olaka Nwogu Reveals

A top Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Olaka Nwogu has shed light on the circumstances surrounding Walid Jibrin’s resignation from his position as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party board of trustees amid the ongoing crisis rocking the party.

During a recent Interview on Friday, Senator Olaka Nwogu said Walid Jibrin was forced out of office in order to ensure that Iyorchia Ayu remains in his position as national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to him, Walid Jibrin had no other option but to resign given the immense pressure that was mounted on him to vacate his position as Chairman of the board of trustees of the party.

“He was hounded out of the office, he did not have any choice. The pressure that was put on him was from every quarter to ensure that Iyorchia Ayu is sustained in office” Daily Post quoted Senator Olaka Nwogu as saying.

Meanwhile, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has refused to accept Walid Jibrin’s resignation as consolation describing it as a distraction. He disclosed on Thursday at an event in Ahoada East Local government area of Rivers State, that he was assured by Atiku Abubakar after the Party’s convention that Iyorchia Ayu will vacate his position as national chairman.
