The federal government has made measures to ensure that the extended Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike is ended, as described by Minister of Education Adamu Adamu. The government is currently conducting salary reviews of lecturers to reflect current inflationary trends, according to Adamu, who was speaking on a Channels TV program.

The Education Minister stated that the government has begun paying any outstanding salaries it owes lecturers. As the government is still awaiting the official approval of UTAS, which ASUU has been fighting for, Adamu Adamu said that IPPIS is the platform being used to pay the academics.

Read what Adamu Adamu said, “ASUU has not yet approved the recent salary increases because they are still consulting.” The Minister, who acknowledged speaking with ASUU practically daily, expressed optimism that the professors would end their protest as soon as feasible.
