According to a news that was published by the Sahara Reporters yesterday evening, it was reported that a controversial Islamic cleric from the northern part of the country, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has reacted to the reported arrest of one of his aides, Tukur Mamu, in Cairo, Egypt.
While Sheikh Gumi was reacting to the news of Mamu’s arrest yesterday evening, he said he heard about the arrest but that he does not know why he was arrested when the news was reported to him.
Gumi said, “I am just hearing the news that Mamu was detained in Cairo with his family members and that, they are already bringing him to Nigeria. I do not know the reason he was arrested because, the Nigerian government did not charge him for anything or declare him wanted at any time.”
Further talking, he said he was hoping to hear more information from the federal government of Nigeria as regarding Mamu’s arrest.
