Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has given solutions to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) problem.
According to Politics Nigeria, the Rivers governor is enraged by the way in which he was defeated by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the presidential primaries, as well as the failure of the former Vice President to select him as running mate.
Governor Wike and his supporters have sought the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, in order to address the party’s internal squabbles.
However, Ayu has refused the governor’s call, emphasizing that he will not resign from his position.
In an interview with The Punch, the Governor’s spokesman, Nathaniel Nkurr, stated that one approach to resolve the PDP conflict is to bring all aggrieved stakeholders and PDP leaders to a roundtable.
The governor stated that the party leadership should sit down and pacify Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, emphasizing that all blocs must agree to work together as a party.
He stated, “The governor’s view is that the party leadership would get down and settle the issue in the party, calling for the pacification of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.”
“All of the blocs must agree to work as a party; the leadership must sit down and address the situation.”
