[ad_1]
The 2022-23 summer transfer window was packed with different dramas and top players joining a new club.
Some of the players brought in are already hitting the ground running, with Erling Haaland being on top of that list. The Norwegian has scored ten goals in six Premier League games this season.
With the summer transfer window closed on Thursday 1st of September, there are some teams who are winners while some are losers in the whole scenario.
WINNERS
1 Arsenal
The Gunners had one of their best transfer summers this season as they brought in some top-class players.
The North London side was able to bring in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City. They also got Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, they replaced Bernd Leno with Matt Turner and signed a youngster Marquinhos from Sao Paolo.
Jesus and Zinchenko have already begun the season on a bright note, with the former involved in six goals in the first six games.
2 Barcelona
There were a lot of talks about the Catalans having financial issues and won’t be able to compete in the transfer market. The reverse was the case as the Catalans were able to bring in World class players and also renew contracts for some of their players.
The La Liga giants signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Raphinha from Leeds United, capping it off with Jules Kounde from Sevilla.
They were able to sign Andreas Christensen, and Franck Kessie on free transfers, while Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto both signed new contracts.
Barcelona’s attack is one of the best in Europe since the start of the season, with their transfer business paying off already.
3 Manchester United
The English Premier League side is starting a new era which is being led by new manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was appointed this summer, and he has been able to convince some players to join Manchester United despite missing out on Champions League qualification.
The Red Devils signed Europa Conference League finalist Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, and both Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
The deal that came as a surprise was the signing of five times Champions League winner Casemiro from Real Madrid.
United got all they need for the new season, and the most important part being the defensive midfield position.
LOSERS
1 Leicester City
The Foxes are one of the losers in this transfer window. The Premier League side for some months was unable to sign players and sold their two first-team players. The Foxes sold Kasper Schmeichel to OGC Nice and Wesley Fofana to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
They are presently 20th on the Premier League table, and things could get worse if the Foxes don’t find a solution earnestly.
2 Liverpool
The Merseyside Reds lost one of their best players, Sadio Mane, to Bayern Munich and has been struggling to keep up with other teams in the league.
The Reds signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica but failed to bolster their options in the midfield area. They got Arthur Melo on deadline day on loan from Juventus, but the Brazilian is not the only option they need as the Reds have loads of injury-prone midfielders.
3 Ajax
The Eredivisie side made a lot of profit this summer in terms of business but lost enormously on the football pitch.
The Dutch side lost two of their best players Antony and Lisandro Martinez this summer. They also lost their manager Erik ten Hag, who has been in charge of their awesome performance over the years.
