Accord presidential candidate, Professor Christopher Imumolen has vowed to put an end to the incessant cases of impunity and lawlessness that have seemed to dog the Nigerian way of life for decades.

Nigerians have seemed to be misdiagnosed with the tag of lawless people for decades because there has been a lack of will to punish crimes or acts of criminality when they are committed.

The youthful presidential candidate, therefore, feels that a change in mentality would naturally come should the government begin to take seriously the issue of the swift and adequate dispensation of justice for crimes committed by anyone or a group of persons without fear or favor.

Atiku Promises Women, Youths 40% Cabinet Position

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has promised to give 40 percent of his cabinet positions to women and youths if elected President in the 2023 general elections.

While emphasizing the importance of women and youths in national development, he raised concern over the high cost of living in the country, blaming it on the failure of the Federal Government-led All Progressives Congress to effectively manage the nation’s economy.

Atiku, represented by a former chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory and spokesman of his campaign organization, Dino Melaye, expressed the view during the inauguration of the Atiku-Okowa Vanguard Nigeria on Saturday in Abuja.

Fed Govt paid S496m in final settlement of the contractual dispute, says Malami

The Federal Government has settled the long-standing contractual dispute over the Ajaokuta Steel Mill and related companies with a foreign investor, Global Steel Group, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami have said.

Malami said the settlement resulted from the mediation proceedings conducted in Paris, France, under the International Chamber of Commerce’s Alternative Dispute Resolution.

He said Nigeria would be paying the foreign firm $496 million as against the $5.258billion it earlier claimed.

Cross River MAN vows to tackle business challenges

The newly elected chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Cross River/Akwa Ibom states branch, Mr. Akin Oyediran has said he will tackle challenges in the manufacturing sector under his jurisdiction through advocacy with the governments of both states.

Oyediran who is also the President of the Medical Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and Managing Director of Jubilee Manufacturing Company in the Onna Local Government area of Akwa Ibom State said it was advocacy that led to the ban on the importation of substandard syringes into the country by the senate, last year.

He stated this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent. According to him, the sector has been crippled by so many factors including forex sourcing, especially with the current economic situation in the country.
