Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, and former Senate President Pius Anyim were conspicuously absente on Wednesday when the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met the 2023 presidential aspirants of the party from the south in Abuja.

Among those who attended were Dele Momodu, Tari Oliver, Charles Ugwu and Kalu Chikwendu.

Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who is from the north, also attended the meeting.

Atiku thanked all present for accepting the results of the convention that elected him the PDP standard bearer at the gathering.

Prior to the general elections in 2023, he promised to collaborate with each of them and noted that they would each play a different role in the campaign.

According to daily trust, Atiku won the presidential primary in May with 371 votes, defeating Wike, who received 237 votes, by a large margin.

Following the results of the primaries, Wike and Atiku have been at odds over the selection of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the vice presidential candidate.
