Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha, a sprinter from Nigeria, has been temporarily suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit for using illicit drugs (AIU)

Nwokocha, 21, ran the anchor leg as Nigeria overcame Jamaica and England to win the gold last month in Birmingham.

At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, she competed on the 4x100m relay team that won gold, along with Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, and Rose Chukwuma.

The quartet’s victory in Birmingham, when they won their 11th gold medal, in a time that set a new African Record of 42.10s, was historic for Nigeria during the Games..

At the most recent World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA, the 21-year-old Nwokocha, a multiple-time national 100-meter champion, raced the 100 meters in 10.97 seconds, a personal best. She ran a personal best of 22.44 seconds for the 200 meters.

The AIU has temporarily suspended Nigerian runner Nzubechi Grace Nwokocha due to the presence or use of illegal substances (Ostarine and Ligandrol) (Article 2.1 and Article 2.2), the group said on Twitter.
