Nigerian Singers, Wizkid and Tems win big in 2022 Headies award. The 2022 Headies Award ceremony took place in Atlanta, United States of America.
It is the first time the coveted award ceremony that celebrates Nigeria’s Afrobeat, African music and culture will be taking place outside the shores of the country. Buju BNXN won the most anticipated award of the night, the next rated award, defeating the likes of Zinoleesky, Ruger, Ayra Star and Lojay to take home a 2022 Bentley Bentayga SUV which comes with the award.Wizkid and Tems collaborated on the international smash “Essence” which won song of the year and best R&B single. Ayra Star won digital artiste of the year and Headies viewer’s choice for Bloody Samaritan. Chris Brown won international artiste of the year, beating Bieber, Beyoncé, Drake, Ed Sheeran and Nas.This category is designed for non-African artists or groups with outstanding achievements and impact on Afrobeats. With Burna Boy and Tems winning the best male and female artist respectively.
