In a swift development, the students and faculty of Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure Ekiti, previously held captive, have been freed in the early hours of Sunday. The ordeal began when assailants shot at their bus, eventually abducting nine individuals, including five students, three female teachers, and the driver.
An Emure Ekiti government official confirmed the liberation, stating, “The abductees are here, parents and family members are present. Stay tuned for further details.” Additionally, sources reveal that officials from the state Ministry of Health are coordinating the transportation of the freed individuals to Ado Ekiti, the state capital, for necessary medical attention.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji, assuring the community, had previously pledged that the kidnapped students and staff from the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools would be reunited with their families, a promise now fulfilled with their safe release.
