The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Monday denied endorsing the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which has former governors, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.

The CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, in a statement by his spokesman, Luminous Jannamike, faulted a media report that the association had changed its position regarding the same-faith ticket.
He said the report was ridiculous, malicious, untrue, and should be disregarded in its entirety by all reasonable members of society.
Taking RCCG from 32 parishes to 200 nations is greatness, PFN praises Adeboye
The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, has showered encomium on the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, for his contribution to the global propagation of God gospel.

We’ll Eliminate All Terrorists By December – FG
The federal government has said that it will eliminate all terrorists by December this year. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said this in Abuja yesterday during a joint security press conference with the Ministers of Defence, Information and Police Affairs as well as the Chief of Defence Staff.

Aregbesola said: “Nigerians have the assurance of all of us that their security is guaranteed. So, we’re here to assure you that you’re safe, that is why we’re here from the instructions of the president that you’re safe and that each day going to December, our safety and security will be better.
“What we face mostly now are clashes of cowardly attacks from those that have been routed in one locality or the other moving to give a false impression that they’re still strong. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate them and restore total peace in every inch of Nigerian soil; that we’re going to do by God’s grace, by December of this year.
Court strikes out Ondo lawmaker’s wrongful expulsion claim
The Federal High Court in Lagos has struck out a suit by an Ondo State lawmaker, Success Torhukerhijo, challenging his expulsion as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declaration of his seat in the House of Assembly vacant.

Justice Akintayo Aluko held that Torhukerhijo’s suit was not the claim of a fundamental right and was not maintainable under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules.
The applicant filed the suit as the sole plaintiff, while the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly; Ondo State House of Assembly; APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were the first to fourth respondents.
