Queen Elizabeth II Under Medical Supervision, Doctors Concerned for Her Health - Bloomberg

According to Buckingham Palace, the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned about her health.

All the Queen’s children are either at, or are travelling to, her Scottish estate near Aberdeen.

According to a statement, “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision.”

It went on to say that the Queen is very comfortable.

Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, have travelled there.

The Duke of York and the Count and Countess of Wessex are on their way to the Scottish estate, which is located about 40 miles (64 kilometres) west of Aberdeen.

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, was already in Scotland on official business.

The Duke of Cambridge is on his way as well, while the Duchess of Cambridge remains in Windsor with their children on their first full day of school.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were scheduled to attend a charity event in London, are instead travelling to Balmoral, according to their spokesperson.

Barriers are being erected outside one of the estate’s entrances.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, cancelled a virtual meeting of her Privy Council on Wednesday, citing medical advice to rest.

There are clearly pressing concerns for the Queen’s health—much more explicitly stated than previously and without any mention of this being limited to mobility issues.

There are also cautions against unfounded speculation, such as the possibility that she had a fall. She was on her feet and smiling as she appointed new Prime Minister Liz Truss on Tuesday.

But the Queen’s health is clearly fragile, as evidenced by the last-minute cancellation of what would have been a virtual meeting of the Privy Council of senior ministers.
