Dein of Agbor, HRM Benjamin Ikechukwu has expressed concern over the possibility of convincing electorates who have never seen dollars before not to receive dollars when given during elections.
HRM Benjamin Ikechukwu who made the submission during an interview just a few moments ago,
stressed that the dollarization of the country’s politics is destroying the nation’s economy.
Ikechukwu made the remarks when reacting to questions on what he as a traditional ruler can do to discourage vote buying, or discouraging electorates in his community to shun selling of votes in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Reacting to the development, HRM Benjamin Ikechukwu noted that the dollarization of the country’s politics is destroying our economy. He further stressed that if we want our currency, the naira to be respected, we must first of all respect it.
The traditional ruler stressed that value must be put into our Naira and that is only when it will be respected.
