CAN challenges APC to mention bishops at Shettima’s unveiling

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) pressed the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday to name the bishops who were present in Abuja for the introduction of the APC’s vice presidential nominee, Kashim Shettima.

At the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja, the ceremony’s location, some Christian clerics could be observed on Wednesday.
There were rumours, though, that the party employed the priests in an effort to earn Nigerians’ favour before the general elections of 2023.
Samson Ayokunle, the president of CAN, made the request in a statement released by Adebayo Oladeji, his special assistant for new media and communication, in Abuja.

The statement read: “Let them name the CAN officials at the programme and their offices. If they could use 2017 photos to claim that some Pastors visited Shettima and lied that Pastor E. A Adeboye has endorsed them, they could do anything.

“Our position on Muslim-Muslim ticket is irreversible. Anybody can claim anything but one thing is clear, CAN was not part of the unveiling programme of Shettima.”
